Name: Mercury, or Mercy.
Gender: Stallion
Age: Five years.
Breed: Appendix Quarter Horse
Height: 16.0 hh
Herd: Jauzi
Appearance: He is tall and slender. His legs are very long, and he is very fast. His pelt is a deep cherry, and his legs are painted black. His mane and tail are also ebony. He has a large star, and small, thin, stripe on his face, but he has no leg markings. If compared to a painting you could see much of his ancestor in him.
Photo:
Personality: He is complex, and a few sentences would do him no better justice than it would you. Usually he is easy going, and sometimes he is even friendly. He, unlike most, is ashamed of his past. He is ashamed that his ancestor was the coward of the brothers. He has a strong desire to prove that he is unlike him in that aspect. He is a proud beast, and he aches for the title of "hero" or "savior". He wants to make his family and friends proud. He wants to be well known, but this is not a power binge in the least. He wants to restore pride to the Jauzi herd.
History: He was raised in the Jauzi herd, and leaving it has never crossed his mind. When he was younger he used to love to hear the tale of the three brothers, but as he aged he became embarrassed of the chocolate brother. He would have much rather been a descendant of the courageous blue stallion, or the cunning silver stallion. When he was young he liked to play war games with other colts of the herd, and with all this practice he became very strong. He could be called one of the best fighters in the Jauzi herd. He has always had very, very, big dreams. He wants to be well known, world renowned even, but for all the right reasons. He doesn't want domination. He wants salvation.
Sample Post:
The desert heat would have been unbearable, but he had been given the chance to grow accustomed to it in the past five years. The bay stallion stood off to himself under the shade of a few sparse trees. The flies were annoying him, so his tail flicked about him. The sound of his friend's voice startled him. "Mercy, you're so lazy." The bay turned to look at his shorter chestnut friend. Mercury smiled and thingyed his head. "Lazy? I do believe you're mistaken, Zohan." Mercury laughed, it was a warm sound. The chestnut grinned, and shook his head. "No, but I do believe you can't catch me!" The chestnut leaped away from Mercury, and began to gallop across the desert. Mercury silently counted out ten seconds. He would let Zohan think he could outrun him. When he reached ten he briefly stretched, and the leaped forward into a fury of flying hooves. From a distance the bay looked more like a blur, and the closer you got the ore you realized you couldn't see his legs, or at least not very well. Really, his legs were moving quickly and organized. He crossed the ground between him and Zohan easily, and he heard the chestnut snort in his annoyance. He should have known better than to challenge him. Zohan's labored breathing was in Mercury's ear. Mercury laughed, and released the energy that he had been holding back. His strides lengthened, and so did the ground between him and Zohan. Mercury loved the high he got from galloping. He knew he was untouchable. He liked forcing his body through the air. He sliced through it like a knife. The air ran it's invisible fingers through his mane, but it didn't dare tangle it. Mercury imagined the air as an invisible rider, and he couldn't believe it dared to place it's weight on his back. He stomped down hard with his forehand, and went into a ridiculous fit of bucks. He was trying to throw his imaginary rider. He couldn't believe it dared to touch him, much lest sit astride him. He whirled and bucked and reared, but still he could not unseat his rider. He heard the hoof beats of Zohan, and he stilled. His rider vanished, and again it was just him and Zohan. Zohan gave him a questioning gaze, but didn't ask his friend. He knew Mercury well, and he knew that he had bouts of insanity often.
