Name: Sagina Gender: Female Age: 2 - newly turned Breed: Marwari Horse Height: 15.2 Hands {Adult Hood Height} Herd: Herdless
Appearance: At first glance, this two yeard old filly may appear a little out of the ordinary - since the first thing that probably catches you eye are her ears. But, if you really look at her, she isn't any different from any other horse. Her breed is native to the deserts, and, while the origins are unknown, was a war horse to the ancient people - bred to be courageous and strong. Never did you see a Marwari collapse, even when bleeding it would carry its rider away from danger. Standing at their side and not letting anyone approach without their masters comforting words and strokes along their necks. Even though the origins are unknown, her high-set tail suggests that there is some arabian blood in her. And, seeing as she's purebred, it can also be assumed that it runs through the breed itself While she is only a filly, Sagina is something of a model for how a Marwari should look like. Her is refined, wide between the eyes. Her most distinguishing feature are her ears, curved inward and appearing to touch at the tips. Her neck is set on high, clean at the throatlatch, and slightly arched at medium length. Her well-pronounced withers give way to a short and strong back. Her tail set high, she has strong hindquarters that are mucular and strong. Her legs are long with strong joints and her hooves are extremely hard. Judging from her height as of now, it's a good guess that she will grow to be just taller than most other mares: 15.2 hands, but it's hard to tell. She has a fine coat and has excellent endurance. While trained Mawari's are gaited and trained to go at a gait called a "rehwal" or "revaal", she never learned this and goes at a normal trot - though sometimes she does accidently switch into the "rehwal" without knowing. It's a hard gait, originally designed to be more comfortable to the rider, but also gave way to the long term detrimention of the horse. In her peoples eyes, whorls are considered undesirable, but Sagina was born with one below the eyes and therefor should have been slaughtered. However, because of its position (next to her leg in the crease between her thigh and her stomach) it was over-looked by poor eyes. Her actual pelt color is a light black, fading into a very light gray color at her legs. The small blotches of white that graces her forehead don't resemble a star in the least, but that's what it would be called in human terms. Her short tail and mane are black and as she grows, her tail will grow relatively thick and long, though her mane will stay short. Her eyes are soft, swirling with all the different hues of brown and chestnut. Photo: {Filly} (It Was Too Big To Put It As An Image)

Personality: Despite seemingly being abandoned, Sagina's personality is normal for both filly's her age and her breed. She is fun to be around when she's in a good mood, playing in the long grasses and swimming in shallow pools. Running around large fields and playing tag with the other colts and fillys. She isn't one to get upset at the sight of dirt and doesn't particularly like taking bathes - though she has no problem going for a swim with her friends. Somewhat a tom-boy, she enjoys rolling around in the dirt when she can find it and kicking sand up into the sky just to watch it catch on the wind. She does have a hint of attitude in her though, possibly from her arabian blood as they seem to be quite frisky. It takes a lot for you to actually anger her, but when you do you'd better take cover. She may only be a filly but she knows how to stick up for herself. She can get shy though, especially when in the company of older, powerful stallions. She has been known to go on long, pointless rambles, most likely just listing the obvious and talking to herself. She doesn't totally understand the whole heirarchy thing, but she's learning with every passing day. History: Born to the desert, Sagina was instantly vulnerable to life's harsh ways. Since she is so young, however, we'll start her history with her mother. Her mother had been apart of a rougue band of horses, their ways of life harsh and forbiding. She was a lower ranked mare, the newest member so instantly forced down to the bottom of the totem pole. Over the next year of her joining, however, she fell in love with the beta stallion - and he, too, shared her love. They would meet together constantly, and it wasn't long before Sagina's mother went into heat. With the help of a friend, the two came up with a plan to have a foal together. The two would breed and the Beta Male's friend would tell everyone that it was his child. All went well for awhile after, but then the Beta's so-called "friend" told the lead Mare and Stallion. The two were furious, but were stuck with what to do. They did not want to shun their Beta, so they simply lowered him to a lower stature; but Sagina's mother was banned. She became a rougue mare, taking refuge in caverns when she came across them and sustaining herself on the cacti the desert allowed her. After Sagina was born Sagina's mother was stressed. She had to sustain her child and so took refuge in another stallions lands. She met with the stallion and a deal took place. In these lands the rule was that a foal had to be two years before it could willingly go on its own. They decided that when the filly turned 2 it would be forced to leave and that Sagina's mother would join the herd. Everything went well, but that day always loomed in the future, always on the filly's mothers mind. Sagina was happy though, not knowing of the plan by her mother's wishes. The two were kept away from the herd, but were happy together. Sagina's mother shared as much as she could with the filly, telling stories of the three brothers and teaching her the deserts' ways. When that day finally came, however, it was a shock to Sagina. She was chased away by her own mother, suddenly left alone. As she searches for someone she can look up to, she carries that bitterness with her. Sample Post:
